Will the open source version stay free?+
Yes. MCPHub is Apache 2.0 and that won't change. The Hosted tier is how we fund the core team without ever crippling the OSS.
How does Hosted pricing work?+
Pre-paid credits, billed by the call. Free-tier servers (filesystem, time, etc.) are $0. Paid-upstream servers (Brave Search, Perplexity) pass cost through with a transparent 10–15% margin.
Can I submit a server to Hosted?+
The Hosted Catalog is curated by the MCPHub team — we own quality, ops, and SLA. You can request additions through Discord, but Registry remains the place for self-published servers.
Do I need an account to use the Registry?+
No. Browsing, searching, and installing via CLI are fully anonymous. You only need an account to submit or star servers.
